On March 20, several players taking part in the 2023 Miami Open took a break from their practice routines to be part of the third edition of the Miami Open Unites campaign, a day of service that brings together ATP and WTA players, tournament staff and volunteers to help South Florida’s most vulnerable in various philanthropic initiatives across Miami-Dade County.
Thanasi Kokkinakis, Benoit Paire and Christian Garin were among the players who got past their first-round matches in the 2023 Miami Open presented by Itaú Men’s Singles Qualifying, and now need only one more win to secure a spot into the main draw.
Three matches. Two different time zones. Almost six hours of tennis for three straight days. Sounds exhausting, right? Not for Laura Siegemund. The 35-year-old German player just ended her personal “tennis marathon” this Monday night securing a spot into the 2023 Miami Open Women’s Singles draw.
The path for Carlos Alcaraz to defend the Miami Open presented by Itaú Men’s Singles title and maintain himself as the World No. 1 was unveiled this Monday and features a series of tough opponents for the Spaniard to face off at Hard Rock Stadium, including Andy Murray, house favorites Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz, and Jannik Sinner.

The 2023 Miami Open presented by Itaú Women’s Singles main draw was announced this Sunday with some interesting first-round matches. And probably the most exciting among them will be the battle between two former US Open champions: Canadian Bianca Andreescu, who won at Flushing Meadows in 2019, and Emma Raducanu, from Great Britain, who surprisingly lifted the trophy back in 2021.
And there were only two: between the seven American players that started the day in the 2023 Miami Open Women’s Qualifying First Round, only College standouts Peyton Stearns and Emma Navarro have won and still stand a chance to get a spot into the main draw.
The 2023 Miami Open presented by Itaú kicks off tomorrow, March 19, with the first round of the Women’s Qualifying Draw. Forty-eight players, including some that were already ranked in the WTA top ten, will fight for the 12 available spots in the main draw.
Returning champions, Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, appear as main favorites this year at Hard Rock Stadium. Besides the thrilling on-court action for the fans to enjoy, a full line-up of events is scheduled for the next two weeks.
